Four out of a total of 56 applying business ideas have been selected as the winners of the #WasteWiseKosovo Challenge. We are glad to be part of their journey towards reducing waste and its negative impacts in Kosovo! 

The cash prize of 10k Euros financed by Coca-Cola HBC will be awarded to GoBeyond and Martin Berisha.   GoBeyond Team (Urtina Mehmeti, Egzona Lami & Karsten Klapp) will be awarded 7k Euros as well as incubation services provided by ICK for their innovative business idea of recycling bio-waste with different types of insects into compost and animal feed; 

• Martin Berisha will be awarded 3k Euros, a trip to World Urban Forum 11 in Katowice, Poland, and a training of his choice by BONEVET for developing his business idea of creating pool filters from recycled glass; 
• Dijamant Kabashi has been selected for a trip to World Urban Forum 11 in Katowice, Poland, and a training of his choice by BONEVET for his business idea of using plastic bottles as a building material for creating lightweight concrete slabs; and  
• Biotech Team (Endrit Ameti, Erjon Ameti, Vegim Ymeri & Argjent Veliu) has been selected for a trip to World Urban Forum 11 in Katowice, Poland, and a training of their choice by BONEVET for their business model of creating biogas through agricultural and food waste.  

The jury has concluded that the ideas selected as winners of the Challenge will contribute to reducing waste in our communities, promoting the circular economy, and creating green and sustainable jobs in Kosovo.  

The #WasteWiseKosovo Challenge has been implemented by UN-Habitat Kosovo and U.S. Embassy Pristina, in partnership with BONEVET, Innovation Centre Kosovo, Coca-Cola HBC, the American Corner, and Kosovo United States Alumni (KUSA).
