The assessment of the GIS situation, facilities and capacities in Kosovo Municipalities is the result of the cooperation of the member municipalities of the Collegia of Directors for Spatial Planning, as a part of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities supported by the “Inclusive Development Program” / UN-Habitat. 

This assessment highlights the current state of administrative functioning in municipalities with special emphasis on the directorate of urbanism; the existing situation and needs of civil servants; the state of operation of information technology, communication and networking; the condition of technological and service equipment; the software they use for daily work with special emphasis on the Geographical Information System/GIS and Computer-Aided Design/CAD; the data and information they possess as well as the methodology used for their collection.

The challenges identified during the design process of this product and the mutual communication with the partner municipalities during the regular meetings with the members of the Collegia of Directors for Spatial Planning have provided the final recommendations which are an integral part of this evaluation.
