UN-Habitat has been working in Kosovo since 1999, and jointly with partners, has been implementing projects that aimed to ensure the efficient management of local government through capacity building programs and on-the-job assistance related to local governance, integration of all communities and informal settlements, spatial planning, urban mobility, cultural heritage, environment protection, public space development and the improvement of urban conditions for citizens.

UN-Habitat continues to provide support for spatial planning through participatory and inclusive approaches through the Inclusive Development Program which is currently being implemented jointly with PAX and CBM and funded by Swedish Development Cooperation.
