Visit of the UN Development Coordinator in Kosovo to the “Inclusive Development Programme” and its partners

Yesterday Mrs. Adrijana Hodžić, the Chief Executive Officer at the Municipality of North Mitrovica welcomed in her office the UN Development Coordinator in Kosovo Mrs. Ulrika Richardson and Mrs. Gwendoline Mennetrier, the Head of the UN-Habitat in Kosovo. The detailed achievements, challenges and opportunities faced by the Municipality of North Mitrovica were elaborated extensively by Mrs Hodžić. In addition, she acknowledged the results accomplished so far through the support provided by the programme together with the municipal administration towards the development of the municipal development plan and other planning documents such as upcoming process of drafting the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan as well as the ongoing cooperation and opportunities in the future.

Cooperation with the civil society and communities as well as respective challenges faced were the topics of the following meeting of the UN Coordinator in Kosovo, held with Community Building Mitrovica management team (CBM) as co-implementing partner of the “Inclusive Development Programme”. Participatory and outreach tools of the programme, including within spatial planning processes and with the youth, the Citizen Participation Plans being developed jointly with partner municipalities and the civil society , the active NGOs in the region and their area of work, the network of the Mitrovica Regional Monitoring Team facilitated by CBM were broadly discussed in the meeting. 

In addition, the visit constituted an opportunity to hand-over the spatial database and the package of technical instruments to the Mitrovica North Municipality, in support of strategic municipal planning and decision-making processes.
