UN-HABITAT presented the Sida-funded Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme at a donor coordination meeting organized by the Ministry of Local Government Administration on September 18, 2009.

The UN-HABITAT representative presented the objectives and outgoing activities of MuSPP scheduled for 2008-2011. These focus on the quality of life of Kosovo’s citizens through planned development. MuSPP support to the planning based capital projects, improvement of living conditions and security for vulnerable groups living in informal settlements are one of the main objectives of the programme.

The presentation emphasised UN-HABITAT’s through continuous support to the municipalities in their planning tasks. The current phase of the programme is focused on the Capital Investment projects that are being planned in a participatory manner and will deliver projects that have been identified and prioritised during the spatial planning process.

Representatives of international organizations operating in Kosovo, central and local government were present in this coordination meeting.
