The first draft of the municipal profile for the Municipal Development Plan was presented at a public consultation in Junik Municipality. Representatives were present from Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, neighbouring municipality Deçan/Decane, Italian KFOR, OSCE, municipal experts and a number of citizens.

The purpose of this presentation was to provide information to the public in Junik regarding progress on the MDP and to share the information. The draft profile of the MDP is the first phase of the planning process that is being undertaken by the municipality with technical support from UN-HABITAT. It includes the Junik urban area together with villages Jasiq and Gjocaj.

Throughout the presentation it was discussed on the data given for the position of Junik on the Kosovo Spatial Plan, functional zones, social infrastructure, economic development, physical aspect of infrastructure, transport, environment, settlements as well as development challenges of Junik.

The presentation was by the MuSPP team which is comprised of the UN-HABITAT technical staff and the municipal planning staff.  The team is assisted by Cultural Heritage without Borders which prepared the Urban Development Plan in 2008/9.
