Planners,

force and Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme (MuSPP) representatives
from the Mitrovica municipality were all involved in a visit to the
Gjilan/Gnjilane Municipality. The purpose of this visit was to see the
implementation of a roundabout in the city centre crossroad, as well as the
rehabilitation and upgrading of the
MirushaRiver in Gjilan/Gnjilane, a project
similar to the
LushtaRiver in Mitrovica. The
meeting was aimed at stimulating a participatory planning process while also
analyzing a comparable situation and city for discussions with the municipal counterparts.
The
LushtaRiver
green corridor project will be co-financed by the
Municipality of
Mitrovica
and the Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme (MuSPP). This meeting was
a favorable moment to exchange ideas with municipal professionals who have
already analyzed, implemented and developed solutions similar to Lushta.
Representatives of the Directorate of Public Services in Gjilan/Gnjilane; Enver
Biçku and Asllan Mustafa presented on the existing situation of road
infrastructure, road additional parameters, conflicting points of circulation,
and type of vehicles that move through this area. The end of the presentation
concluded with the recommendation to transform the classic crossroad into a
roundabout.

of the meeting allowed Mitrovica team to learn from the experiences in
Gjilan/Gnjilane, to potentially apply the lessons learned to the situation in
Mitrovica. In this regard Ilir Gjinolli from Urban Plus (the company that
drafted a project for
