Citizens of Partesh/Partes draft a vision for their new municipality
Municipality of Partesh/Partes conducted a Visioning Workshop to launch drafting of Municipal and Urban Development Plans. The visioning workshop for Partesh was organised jointly by UN-HABITAT/ Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme, Cultural Heritage without Borders (CHwB), Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP). It took place in Ohrid/Macedonia from 19-23 July, 2011.
The group of participants in the workshop from the municipality of Partes/Partesh consisted of municipal officers, civil society, business community and citizens in general. Professional support to the workshop was given from the staff of MuSPP, Institute and Department of Spatial Planning within MESP, CHwB and FES. The workshop was also honoured by the presence of the mayor of Malishevë/Malisevo, a recent MuSPP partner municipality, advisor of the minister of MESP and the Head of MuSPP/UN-HABITAT office in Kosovo. The participants were divided into 4 working groups, and they worked on different aspects in their municipality, and the final product was a joint vision declaration and two mottos. The vision statement is as follows: New municipality with rich cultural tradition, eco-conscious, with transformed agriculture and infrastructure that aspires sustainable development. On the other hand, mottos that derived from the working groups were: Visited, observed, remained and New municipality, new opportunities
The results of the intensive work in a 4 day workshop will be used as a foundation for guiding the process of drafting the MDP and UDP document, and they will be presented to a wider audience in the municipality at a later stage.
