Municipality of Ferizaj/Urosevac approved Disaster Risk Assessment Management (DRAM) and Transport components as part of the MDP and UDP documents

On 5th of August 2011 the municipal Assembly of Ferizaj/Urosevac approved the Disaster Risk Assessment Management (DRAM) and Transport component documents.  These documents were drafted by the Directorate of Urbanism, Property, Geodesy and Cadastre with the support of Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme phase (MuSPP) Implemented by UN-HABITAT and funded by Sida .
The Municipality of Ferizaj/Urosevac approved its MDP/UDP documents in early 2009. However, some components of the plans were assessed by the Municipality to require further strengthening, particularly the DRAM and Transport component. Therefore, during the process of drafting these two components, Directorate of Urbanism, Property, Geodesy and Cadastre examined and identified the vulnerability to manmade disasters and natural disasters e.g. flooding, earthquakes, erosion and fire, especially within the human settlements areas. The same procedure was followed for the, identification and analyses for the transportation infrastructure and mobility issues all with the purpose of drafting DRAM and Transport.
These two components approved by Municipal Assembly from now on are part of MDP/UDP.
