The Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme, funded by the Swedish Government and implemented by UN-HABITAT, has launched its third phase of the programme, with a clear focus on the strengthening of the planning and management capacity of the municipalities. Mitrovica is one of the selected 12 partner Kosovo municipalities.
During her visit to Mitrovica, on 14.11.2011, Ms.Krystyna Galezia, CTA/ Head of office UN-HABITAT programme in Kosovo and Mr.Avni Kastrati, Mayor of the municipality of Mitrovica, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the MuSPP-phase3.
In this occasion, Ms.Krystyna Galezia, stressed that environmental issues and sustainable development are at the forefront of the programme and expressed her hope for further advanced cooperation with municipality on achieving the joint objectives in respective areas of cooperation. Mr. Avni Kastrati in response has appreciated the good cooperation with MuSPP/ UN-HABITAT in the past and expressed his commitment for further successful cooperation in development processes of the municipality.
