On 29^th of February 2012, Mr. Bajrush Xhemaili, the Mayor of Ferizaj/Urosevac and Ms.Krystyna Galezia, the CTA/ Head of office, UN-Habitat’s Municipal Spatial Planning Support Prgramme in Kosovo (MuSPP) exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Mayor’s office in Ferizaj/Urosevac.  The signed MoU defines the fields of cooperation between the Municipality and MuSPP funded by the Swedish Government and implemented by UN-Habitat.  

Mr. Xhemaili, expressed his appreciation to UN-Habitat for the support provided to the municipality of Ferizaj/Urosevac during the past few years. The mayor reconfirmed his strong commitment to implement following prject planned for the future: drafting UDP/URP for Softaj urban sub-centre, establishing possible capital investment project (CIP) as a Green corridor, creating an integrated GIS database and prefeasibility study for solid waste management.

Ms. Galezia, highlighted the good cooperation and experience in implementing different projects, especially the Flood Reduction CIP next to Ura Dudit, Ferizaj/Urosevac.  I was also stated that this project has been a successful story for the municipality and for UN-Habitat Kosovo will be documented in a UN-Habitat publication on disaster risk management.
