As part of professional support,  UN-Habitat/MuSPP, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP) – (Institute of Spatial Planning - ISP, Department of Spatial Planning - DSP, Department of Housing and Construction - DHC) facilitated a two days action planning workshop.
The workshop took place on 29th and 30th of May 2012, in Hotel “Solid” in Suhareka. It involved representatives from Mamusha Municipality including the director of urbanism, officers, and representatives of farmer’s association.
The purpose of the workshop was multi-fold and Its aim was to:
• Establish  conceptual structure for action planning and its relations with MDP,
• Generate action ideas,
• Formulate strategies and define necessary actions/projects to be implemented
• Prepare an action plan with defined tasks in terms of responsibility, resources needed, priority, time required, financial implications;
The two day workshop contained 4 sessions, and each of them was prepared in order to give necessary information for generating ideas and actions for the MDP action plan.
In the first session municipal representative shortly presented three completed phases of MDP: the challenges, vision, goals/objectives and spatial development framework. Explanations on linkages between planning elements within the MDP as well as the working instructions were given by MuSPP representative.
In the second and the third session the participants divided into of the groups based on thematic areas, provided the potential actions for achieving the spatial planning goals and objectives of the MDP and discussed between each other. The thematic areas included: demography and socio economic situation, economic development, infrastructure and public services and environment, landscape and natural and cultural resources.  Afterwards, these actions were listed in an action planning matrix and were presented by the presenter of the group.
In the last session the members of the thematic groups listed actions, projects and programmes identified in previous sessions in a matrix, by provision of responsible institutions, financial implications and timeframe.
The participants in the workshop have contributed in identification of potential actions to be undertaken in order to ensure that the vision for Mamusha is realised.
The action plan produced in the workshop will serve as a basis for the selection of the strategies for implementation, which will also be assessed by the SEA consultant.
