The opening of the public review for the draft-Municipal Development Plan of Partes/Partesh took place on the 4^th of September 2013, in the premises of the new municipal building. The public review ceremony began with the welcoming remarks of the deputy Mayor, Mr. Dejan Jocic, who greeted the process of drafting the MDP, and expressed his gratitude towards UN-Habitat's MuSPP for their professional support throughout the entire process. He also considered the draft-MDP as a structure for municipal development, because it will be a basis for the upcoming projects such as regulatory plans, and other projects that will derive from the MDP and most importantly, for the local economic development. 

The director of the Department of Spatial Planning within the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP), Mr. Agim Radoniqi, considered the opening of public review for the MDP as a very special event for the municipality of Partes, because it is the first plan that is drafted for this young municipality and during these days all the citizens and organizations operating here, will have the chance to give their opinions and suggestions.

The officer in charge of UN-Habitat's Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme, Mr. Ishaku Maitumbi, greeted the municipal and MuSPP professional staff for the work done, and he emphasized that the plan gives an opportunity for the municipality to develop in a balanced way. The MDP sets very clearly the aims and objectives of the municipality for the next 10 years, and its presentation and display in the three settlements of the municipality, will offer a good opportunity for all the citizens to express their views regarding the plan.

After the welcoming remarks the plan was presented by the Head of the planning, environment, cadastre and property directorate within the municipality of Partes, Mr. Todor Ivanovic, who presented the legal basis for drafting the plan, the existing situation and also all the aims and objectives which are set for the next 10 years. At the end of the presentation, Mr Ivanovic, encouraged all the participants to actively take part in the public review, and he assured that the same presentation will be done in the other settlements of the municipality.

The public review of Partes MDP will be open for 60 days, after which the documents will be reviewed with the comments submitted during this period. The final documents will be submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning in order to verify its full conformity with the current Law and before approval by the Municipal Assembly.

During the public review period, the Partes MDP documents together with the exhibited maps are available at the Municipal Building or may be downloaded for review from the municipal website.
