As part of the project "Sustainable development in Kosovo: introducing Estonian practices on waste and water management in Kosovo municipalities", a workshop on environmental planning practices took place on the 10th of June in Pristina. The project is funded by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and coordinated by HEDC (Harju County Entrepreneurship and Development Consultancy) in cooperation with UN-Habitat/MuSPP. The workshop included presentations on common environmental challenges in European municipalities and green infrastructure by Ms. Kadri Tillemann and on local scale sewage technologies by Mr. Indrek Salis.

Following the recent study visit to Estonia where representatives from MuSPP municipalities and the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning have participated, Estonian consultants have visited Kosovo from 10th to 12th of June to deliver the workshop and provide consultation, with special focus on wastewater biological treatment solutions.

A mini-grant programme is part of the project, aiming to develop a technical project for a biological treatment facility for wastewater purification which will be prepared according to the municipality's needs and conditions. Relevant application forms and conditions will be provided to all MuSPP partner municipalities in due time.
