The Municipal Assembly of Mamusha/Mamusa approves the Municipal Development Plan 2014-2023
The Municipal Development Plan of Mamusha/Mamuşa:
- provides the vision for the future spatial development of the municipality and the common direction for policies and programmes to achieve the set goals and identified strategic priorities;
- provides a basis for decision-making and serves as a written guide to manage public policies, plans, programs, actions, and investments;
- provides the regulation elements that will guide the municipality in issuing construction permits until zoning plan/detailed regulation plan is drafted.
The Municipal Development Plan and Strategic Environmental Assessment were drafted with the support of the Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme (MuSPP) implemented by UN-Habitat and funded by Swedish Development Cooperation and in consultation with the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and other relevant ministries.
The process of drafting the Municipal Development Plan and Strategic Environmental Assessment included trainings, study tours, workshops, seminars, public discussions, debates, and meetings that contributed to the development of capacities of municipal staff in a field of spatial planning and environment protection. Furthermore, this process has also contributed to increasing transparency in decision making processes as well as raising awareness with regards to sustainable development amongst stakeholders and community.
