Delivery of the Training Module on Drafting Municipal Development Plans marks the completion of Training of Trainers sessions as a part of "MuSPP self-sufficiency Toolbox" roll-out
The Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme (MuSPP) has successfully completed the Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions, as the first phase of "MuSPP self-sufficiency toolbox" roll-out training sessions. The final module was dedicated to Drafting Municipal Development Plans, which correlates and consolidates elements triggered from other associated modules. The delivery of Module on Drafting Municipal Development Plans took place in Durrës - Albania, in two blocks during May 11th - 14th and 25th - 28th.
The main aim of this training module was to set structured professional capacities that will support municipal spatial planning processes through trainings and other ways of knowledge-transfer for targeted groups within Kosovo municipalities. In that spirit, the training focused on developing capacities in managing municipal development through the process of Municipal Development Plan with a view to identify and enable the participants to become future trainers.
The training module provided participants with different aspects in approach, system, procedures and organisational arrangements in planning. The strategic spatial planning framework in Kosovo was presented through all the phases, also providing opportunities for active participation through discussions and practical exercises, during which the participants from the local and central level discussed different positions and approaches, as well as exchanged respective experiences. A crucial part of the training relied on provision of relevant planning tools and case examples inspired by MuSPP's approach and experience.
In order to achieve its objectives, the training module concluded with a training simulation exercise during which the participants demonstrated their knowledge and skills gained in training delivery to fellow participants.
Officials that participated in this training module were mainly from MuSPP partner institutions at central and local level - Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning-Department of Spatial Planning, Construction and Housing (DSPCH); municipalities of Ferizaj/Uroševac, Gjilan/Gnjilane, Graçanicë/Gračanica, Malishevë/Mališevo, Prizren, Pejë/ Peć, Rahovec/ Orahovac, and North Mitrovicë/ Mitrovica.
