"MuSPP Self-sufficiency toolbox" hits an important milestone - Module on Managing Capital Investment Projects rolled out to all Kosovo Municipalities

The pool of trainers that completed the "Training of Trainers" on Managing Capital Investment Projects (CIP) has successfully completed the rolling out of the module to their fellow colleagues and civil society representatives from all Kosovo Municipalities. The final segment of the CIPs-related trainings organized by the Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme (MuSPP) which targeted 14 municipalities, took place from 29th of September to the 1st of October in Prishtinë/Priština and Pejë/Peć.

The training module consisted of three interactive sessions which presented MuSPPs approach to managing capital investment projects through an inclusive participatory process, the respective methodological tools and basic principles for sustainable urban design. The participants had the possibility of applying these principles through a role-based four part exercise, which enabled a joint reflection within the groups of how could the project development processes be improved in their respective municipalities.

The participants acknowledged the achieved results in applying the MuSPP approach, which contribute to an improved management of such processes as well as more sustainable results on the ground. As a testament to those statements were a number of examples implemented by MuSPP, which were shared by participants from partner municipalities. A special contribution to the discussion in both cases came from the municipal officials who facilitated the trainings in the capacity of trainers, as direct beneficiaries who were actively engaged in applying the inclusive approach in project development processes in their respective municipalities.

The trainings were attended by a total number of39 participants, representing the ethnic communities from the municipalities of Prishtinë/Priština, Obiliq/Obilič, Drenas/Glogovac, Skenderaj/Srbica, Graçanica/Gračanica, Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje, Lipjan/Lipljan, Shtime/Štimlje, Peja/Peć, Deçan/Dećani, Junik, Gjakova/Đakovica, Klina, Istog/Istok.

These training sessions are co-financed by the Foundation Friedrich Ebert (FES).
