MuSPP Sustainability Toolbox successfully institutionalized within the Kosovo Institute for Public Administration

After a collegial process organized by the Kosovo Institute of Public Administration (KIPA), Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP) and UN-Habitat/ MuSPP, the institutionalization of ''MuSPP Sustainability Toolbox'' has been successfully concluded resulting with anchoring of the four MuSPP training modules and 21 certified trainers into KIPA training programme/database.

As planned by the parties, all materials of training modules underwent revision process, administrative and substantive evaluation by respective Evaluation Committees (consisting of KIPA, MESP and UN-Habitat members). All modules were highly praised for their quality, having received almost maximum points accordingly to KIPA criteria, and were officially endorsed and approved by Ms. Refike Sülcevsi, Executive Director of KIPA.

Parallel to this, MuSPP/UN-Habitat trainers underwent application process, testing and evaluation by respective Evaluation Committees. As a result, a total number of 21 trainers (13 trainers allocated to 1 module, 4 trainers allocated to 2 modules) coming from different municipalities, communities and gender have been qualified for certification by KIPA for respective modules: Public Participation in Spatial Planning (7 trainers), Drafting Municipal Development Plans (6 trainers) Drafting Strategic Environmental Assessments (3 trainers) and Managing Capital Investment Projects (5 trainers).

The certification was completed with all successful trainers undergoing a two-day training (August 23-24, 2016) organized by KIPA on ''Training skills'', with trainers Mr. Enver Haxhijaj (Director of the Trainings Directorate/KIPA) and Bujar Thaqi (Director of Administration/KIPA). At the end of training, Ms. Refike Sülcevsi (Executive Director of KIPA) and Ms. Gwendoline Mennetrier (Chief Technical Adviser of UN-Habitat office in Kosovo) certified all successful trainers, by awarding them certificates, one per respective module and one for training skills.

As a closure of this process, all modules and certified trainers have been registered into the training programme/database of KIPA. This step lays out a unique institutional foundation for trainings in the field of spatial planning (included in the field of 'General Management and Municipal Affairs' within KIPA training programme) to be further deployed by KIPA for  all civil servants (and also in the future  professionals and other interested individuals).
