As a part of MuSPP Self-Sufficiency Toolbox rolling out process, the first Trainings of Targeted Groups on Drafting Municipal Development Plans (MDPs) were held in parallel in Prishtinë/Priština and Ferizaj/Uroševac from 27th to 29th of October. These trainings targeted 19 municipalities and the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP) representatives, and were facilitated by the trainers identified in the Training of Trainers phase - respectively municipal officials coming from Pejë/Peć, Malishevë/Mališevo, Rahovec/Orahovac, Gjilan/Gnjilane and Graçanicë/Gračanica.

The training module on drafting MDPs is structured in seven sessions, each of them consisting of presentation/discussion and practical exercise components, as an interactive format of sharing MuSPP approach in drafting municipal development strategies. The participants through group work exercises had the opportunity to apply and develop the components of the MDP process; this triggered valuable  discussions and considerations for further improving the process in terms of assessing the current situation, drafting the development plan, as well as its implementation and monitoring. Particular focus was paid to the municipal in-house capacity arrangements and strengthening as key elements for a comprehensive and inclusive process.

A particular presentation during the training was provided for the planning reform in Kosovo. A presentation of the new legal framework was delivered by MESP representatives, including the requirements and obligations for drafting the MDP, which attracted a special interest of the participants. 

The trainings were attended by 38 participants from the MESP, as well as from municipalities of Prishtinë/Priština, Ferizaj/Uroševac, Gjilan/Gnjilane, Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje, Gllogoc/Glogovac, Graçanicë/Gračanica, Hani i Elezit/Elez Han, Kaçanik/Kačanik, Kamenicë/Kamenica, Kllokot/Klokot, Novobërdë/Novo Brdo, Obiliq/Obilić, Partesh/Parteš, Ranillug/Ranilug, Skenderaj/Srbica, Shtërpcë/Štrpce, Shtime/Štimlje, and Viti/Vitina.
