To mark the Europe Day in Kosovo, the European Commission Liaison Office in cooperation with Municipal Spatial Planning Support programme of UN-HABITAT, the Municipality of Prizren, the Kosovo Cycling Federation, and the Youth Centre Fisnikët organized a cycling tour in Prizren on May 3. 2009.

The event started at Hotel Theranda and continued to Sinan Pasha Mosque, through the Archangel Monastery, Gazi Mehmet Pasha Hamam, Soziu Bridge, Stone Bridge and Arasta Bridge. Around 70 participants took part in the tour.

Ramadan Muja, Mayor of Prizren, welcomed the organization of this cycling tour as a way to promote the beauty of the city and its surrounding. All these attractions of Prizren are within cycling and possibly also walking distance. The tour has shown that there is a demand for discovering the city of Prizren in this way. MuSPP promotes the effective inclusion of adequate facilities for cycling and walking in the entire city and especially in the perimeter of the Cultural heritage special projection zone.

A similar event was organized last year when around one hundred participants cycled along the main cultural heritage sites in Dukagjini Valley from Peja/Pec to Gjakova/Djakovica through Isniq, Deçan and Junik. There are plans for a new edition of the Culture Tour later this year.
