Upon consent by the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP), on the fulfilment of the requirements deriving from the respective laws, in case of Gracanice/ Gracanica; and in the process of review by MESP, in the case of Partes/ Partes; and in line with training and capacity building component of the MuSPP/ UN-Habitat, with focus at expanding and enhancing the capacities and knowledge of the local government institutions for performing their duties and responsibilities, training workshops were organized on the MDP and SEA- Interpretation, Implementation, Monitoring and Assessment.

The workshops gathered numerous participants, officials from the respective municipalities, including guest officials from the Municipality of Mitrovice/ Mitrovica North// Mitrovica North Administrative Office (MNAO), representing departments such as planning and urbanism, public services and economic development. 

The workshop sessions consisted of presentations, followed by interactive activities dealing with the aspects of the workshop focus, during which the participants productively worked through a process rather than simply receiving the product. The structure of the activities was designed to engage the participants in a collaborative learning process.

The workshop participants were provided with practical and hands-on ideas, tools and problem resolving techniques to different situations through easy understandable examples from national and international contexts as well as different disciplines, beyond conventional training.

Both documents, the MDP and the SEA, for Municipalities of Partesh/ Partes and Gracanice/ Gracanica and were drafted with support of the Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme (MuSPP), implemented by UN-Habitat and funded by the Swedish Development Cooperation.
