MuSPP2 and Municipality of Junik Discuss on DRAM and Climate Change
The workshop on Disaster Risks Management (DRAM) and
climate change took place in Junik, on 2 March 2010 as part of the process of
drafting the Junik Municipal Development Plan (MDP). This workshop involved
professional staff from the
The main aims of the workshop were to discuss DRAM issues
and the development of possible projects/proposals in this field to be used as
an input to the MDP. The workshop, focused on climate change and its impact on
the spatial development. The participants discussed also a need for awareness
campaign and activities to remedy existing risks.
The DRAM
issues and objectives identified in the MDP profile were discussed, revised and
risk areas mapped. It was noted that the identified actions not only related to
issues such as tree logging, erosion, land slides, flooding and man-kind
activities causing risks in the event of earthquakes and fires, but they also
focused on organisational and legal aspects.
The workshop was characterized by a good working atmosphere
and enthusiasm of municipal representatives in providing the expected results
and follow up tasks.
