MuSPP2 management and Prizren Municipal authorises signed an agreement for the revitalisation of Farkatarve Street
The Mayor
of Prizren Municipality and representatives of MUSPP2, on Wednesday the 31st
March 2010 at the premises of UN-HABITAT in Prishtina signed an agreement to
implement a project that will revitalize a street with the historic centre of
Prizren calledFarkatarve Street.
The
overarching objective of the
Farkatarve
street project is to deliver a tangible exemplar
project co-funded by the both parties, through a series of interventions to
create pleasant conditions for pedestrian flow within a heritage precinct. In
developing the project, a range of participatory planning techniques, innovative
design standards and project management techniques were used.
To be more
specific the project will integrate the historic core in Prizren (Shadervan)
with
Farkatarëve Street.
The project will also connect heritage items within the project area by
upgrading the public spaces i.e. pedestrians the street, appropriate surface
materials in keeping with historic centre, improve lighting, signage and above
all further accentuate the citys heritage values in a sustainable manner.
The project
in total will cost 277 thousand euros and it will be co-funded by
Municipality of
Prizren and UN-HABITAT.
