Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, UN-HABITAT/ MuSPP and OSCE organized a press conference to make public the recommendations derived from the workshop on regularization of informal settlements and the upgrading of urban areas. A delegation of Ferizaj/Urosevac municipality and MuSPP- UN-HABITAT visited the Mobility center of Lund/ Sweden

Transport Department of Lund Municipality welcomed Ferizaj/Urosevac delegation. The visit took place from 20 – 23 of November 2006. Representation of Ferizaj/Urosevac municipality included Mr. Faik Grainca (Municipal Mayor), Mr. Dugagjin Etemi (Chief Executive Officer), Mr. Mustafe Zariqi (Head of Urban Planning Sector) and three representatives from the “Municipal Spatial Planning Support Programme” (MuSPP) from UN-HABITAT. Urban Upgrading and the Regularization of Informal Settlements in Kosovo

The Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP), MuSPP/ UN-HABITAT and OSCE organized a joint Workshop on Urban Upgrading and the Regularization of Informal Settlements in Kosovo. The purpose of the workshop was to raise awareness about urban upgrading and regularization of informal settlements and to develop strategies for resolving the issue in line with the spirit of Vienna Declaration on Informal Settlements, Kosovo Standards Implementation Plan (KSIP) and European Partnership Action Plan (EPAP).click here for more information

Celebration of the World Habitat day in Kosovo

As Kosovo slowly recovers from the war, the World Habitat Day celebrations take on a special significance with the focus this year on young people and the key role they are playing in helping reshape their cities. Good Urban Governance and civil society's role in decision-making discussed

Within the MuSPP programme, UN-HABITAT in close cooperation with the Office for Good Governance, Human Rights, Equal Opportunities and Gender Issues in the office of the Prime Minister, and with the Advocacy, Training and Resource Center organized a Conference on Good Urban Governance. The Conference had a regional character and was a follow up on a Round Table Meeting on Engagement of Civil Society in Decision-Making Processes. click here for more information
